The Invacare Softform Trolley mattress range has been designed to specifically meet the demands of the modern hospital enviroment.
The foam core has independent geometrically-cut surface cells that helps to reduce shear and friction, increasing the overall support surface area for the vulnerable individual and thereby reducing peak pressures.
The cover fabric provides excellent recovery and durability and helps to reduce shear and friction forces. The base is a tough coated polyurethane that protects the mattress against potential trolley damage from trolley frames.
To meet infection control policies, the cover is fully welded with a specially designed zip, which is welded in place and covered by a deep flap on all 4 sides.

Essential nursing care is pivotal in pressure ulcer prevention. This mattress will positively contribute to the outcome of a pressure ulcer prevention care plan. Education, clinical judgement and action based planning based on vulnerability are fundamental factors in the prevention of pressure ulcers. A range of assessment scales can be used as a formal method of assessing risk from pressure ulcer development, and should be used in conjunction with an informal assessment (informed nursing judgement). Informal assessment is considered to be of greater importance and clinical value. Risk assessment used in this case is the Waterlow scale. Manufactured to European Standards: BS 5852: Crib 5 and BS 7175: Crib 5.
By improving care givers working conditions, it will lower their risk of injury and thus reduce absenteeism.
