ErgoMove technology

The Invacare NordBed Optimo includes ErgoMove technology to bring the client from a lying position to an active sitting position, and back to a horizontal position comfortably with a push of a button. The active position promotes client function, such as eating, drinking and reading. The movement sequence ensures that the client stays in position and does not slide (migrate) down the bed, this reduces shear, friction and compression forces, which can lead to pressure injury development.

Pivot points on the bed frame match the body’s own natural pivot points at the hip and knee, this combined with the built-in auto-regression, which moves and positions the backrest so that the mattress does not slide, allows for body compensation, significantly reducing shear whilst bringing the client to a sitting position.

The ErgoMove technology offers a single-handed care feature reduces the need for care staff to reposition the client.

The ErgoMove technology has been specifically designed to bring the client from a lying position to an active sitting position comfortably, with a push of a button.

Ease of handling

With no part weighing more than 20kg the NordBed Optimo can be dismantled into 5 sections. Optimo can be placed on its own base, extremely compact and stable, thus making it ideal for transportation and storage.

Up-and-Out

Up-and-Out feature can be used with a simple push of a button, to bring the bed to a safe height for transferring in and out of bed.

Design

Available in a variety of modern bed end styles, wood finishes and painted surfaces. Depending on the need and personal taste NordBed Optimo can be configured with side panels, side rails and more.

Optimised mattress platform

Length of the mattress sections has been optimised to accommodate for average adult anthropometric body measurements, (back of pelvis to knee crease) allowing the profiling sections to fit to and support 95% of the average adult population.

Ideal for refurbishment

NordBed Optimo has an option to be specially adapted to withstand cleaning in a washing machine.

Optional Anti-trendelenburg and Trendelenburg

Supports care staff when repositioning the client in bed, and can be easily used to adjust and redistribute pressure.

Under bed light

Supporting fall prevention the NordBed Optimo is available with an under bed light, reducing the risk of falls during the night

Hand control

The handset has been designed with the most frequently used buttons in easily identifiable colours. These colours have been chosen in collaboration with experts.

To assist the client, all buttons will light up when any button is touched for easy recognition during the day or night. To ensure easy selection, the most frequently used are positioned at the top of the handset.

The adjustment features (such as: backrest angle) are placed below the up/down buttons. For the client’s safety all handsets are lockable as standard. A locking system has also been added to the handset to prevent unwanted tampering with the controls, helping ensure client safety.
